Destructive paths and narrowed minds
Wait for someone to cross that line
Bombs ignite as they start their cars
Problems unsolved; left only scars
Pushing viewpoints and pointing fingers
The stench of death is all that lingers
Torn in two and divide by bars
Always fighting; peace is ours
Peace in the east
Seems to be ceased
Shattered dreams and scattered hopes
As the assassin zeros his scope
Rising forces; using sources
Of destruction; playing war games
How much blood must be spilled
Is this war worth the guilt
If they must, inflict pain
What have they come to gain
Peace in the east
Seems to be ceased
Sons & fathers; mothers & daughters
Try to survive their governments slaughter
Children play with little hope
With broken families, they try to cope
Peace in the east is so blind
Running circles in my mind
We are one & we share the land
Why can’t they just understand
Peace in the east
Seems to be ceased
